A Road So Covered in Snow Poem Read: 2306 Free Inspirational Poems

The twisting in his stomach
was telling a tale
of a turning heart

While he filled the pages
with the shards of words
of a burning art

She lies under sheets
and stares up at a dancing thought
that’s has taken the night

Beneath this chilly sky
it's the hope of something beautiful
that has taken the night

Between them sits a road
a road so covered in snow
some say, it could make you blind

A road so covered in snow
some say, if you waited just long enough
it would be a beautiful place to find

October Leaves Poem Read: 2223 Free Inspirational Poems

If I can see the Sun
then why am I still
so cold?
Watching the leaves dying
just to be
picked up
again

Im as naked as the trees
Im as frozen as the ground
I will keep watching the leaves
as we both fall down

So I will follow October
as she slowly
walks away
Im sure I will get it
right
next time
I promise

The Thief Poem Read: 1876 Free Inspirational Poems

Some say I could have stopped this crime
but I swear it happened too fast
as I watched her escaping
escaping her past
just in time
just…
in time

And some say she's trespassed these walls before
but I swear she's just looking for light
as I watched her steal this heart
steal this heart tonight
just once for
just…
once more

Keeping a Night Sky Alive Poem Read: 2603 Free Inspirational Poems

Shooting stars keep a night sky alive
and calm dark waters are rippled by a feeding fish
With our back against the dewy grass, you whisper,
"they dont last.....so make a wish."
They burn so bright, then drop out of sight
I would spend a lifetime to take it all in
Maybe our fires done burning
and like those stars.....weve fallen
Our past sings through swaying trees
and words break silence like a distant wind chime
Maybe this is only the beginning
and we will burn brighter in time
So tonight I share my wish
to the girl with the broken smile
ill throw it all in the water
and ask her to stay a while

Who filled the clouds with goodbye's? Poem Read: 6618 Goodbye Poems

Your eyes were the night sky I once stared into
jet black...centered in midnight blue
Who stole the twilight that never dies?
Who stole the stars from those eyes?
I guess I didn't know what to say
to a night sky fading away
Who said the moon never cries?
Who stole the stars from those eyes?
Now, the night breeze will surely come
the one that leaves us feeling numb
So, who filled the clouds with goodbye's?
Who stole the stars from those eyes?

Talking to the mirror Poem Read: 2795 Free Inspirational Poems

Will I?
Why ask?
"You don't
love for ever."
That is why she
isn't looking.
"Good.".....
...............
...Good looking
isn't she?
"Why is that
ever for love?"
Don't you
ask why?
"I will.".…

A word like love can be unspoken but true Poem Read: 7486 True Love Poems

A word like love
can be hidden
and put away for a while
while you look for that girl
who will change your life
and make you smile
Just don't forget
look at the girl
standing in front of you
she's laughing
and happy
because of you
Not everyone believes in love
at first sight
at first glance
but don't make the mistake
of losing this one
and missing your chance
This girl will be there
for no one else
but you
because a word like love
can be unspoken
but true

Share a goodbye with a drop of rain Poem Read: 4096 Goodbye Poems

Im hiding beneath your fingernail
Im just another grain of sand
Let me join the countless others
and please, rinse your hand
I share a goodbye
with a friend whose fate i see in me
He's a drop of rain already falling
and will shortly join the sea

I call my thoughts Poem Read: 3041 Free Inspirational Poems

The door is always open and unlocked
this is where I will spend most of my time now
I know....Im alone here, but it's getting a little crowded
And I know.... you wanted to take everything with you
but memory still speaks your name
So sneak into this room I call my thoughts
tear down these black curtains
Let me stare into the sun, I've forgotten how it feels
break open these frozen windows
Let me stare into your eyes, I've forgotten how it feels
Im trapped between four corners too familiar
and a ceiling much too low
You said you wouldn't help me tear down these walls
but ripping away these posters of regret
is the least you could do
For now I will lay in this empty bed
and hide under these sheets once again
waiting while I fade away once more
this blanket still smells of you
I don't want this again
I give this to you
through this pen and to a heart you call your own
A letter...
A dilemma...
A poem...
A notice that I've given up.

Idle Before the Motionless Lights Poem Read: 2401 Free Inspirational Poems

Shadows of clouds darken the already night sky
for now I will focus on the snowy white peaks
that mask on the silhouette of mountains
that face above the approaching highway
The song on the radio serves a timely reminder
as I await before the final intersection
idle before the motionless lights
I watch the windshield wipers
push the water of these raindrops
my favored casualties
my intolerable souvenirs
I'd like to think this red glare
would stay forever
but it will soon turn green
and I will have to move on
To a bed, just to rest my head
heavy with the thought
of how I could just turn back
and do it all again
